Gas Boiler insurance is common
Nowadays, there is almost nothing that can’t be covered by insurance, from the health of dogs to safety of pda’s. Despite the choice it is important to get those insurance policies first which are compulsory like the ones for motor insurance. Lenders will also require borrowers to take out house insurance if they have a mortgage to cover the cost of replacement and rebuilding. Insurance offers security against unpredicted events that can severely affect life and property.
If we move our attention to risks which are less important then we would meet products such as central heating system plans, protection products which are offered by the likes of British Gas, npower, Eon and Homeserve. Perhaps because it is not a requirement to have the likes of heating insurance it is often overlooked by homeowners and landlords, however repairs of the likes of central heating systems can be very expensive. The other problem is that actually getting someone to repair it can take time, and living without hot water or heating is no fun, especially in winter. A damaged or badly maintained central heating system can leak carbon monoxide gas which can be deadly.
Anyone in the market for a new central heating boiler maintenance or breakdown plan has plenty of options. A typical insurance plan can cover basic boiler breakdown with crucial safety checking and servicing once a year. Spare parts and repair work are not included so you carry the risks of a breakdown. But anyone taking out one of these plans, unless their central heating boiler is still under warranty, only has to pay a small amount more per month to upgrade to a policy that covers repairs and spare parts. This additional money will be a worthwhile payment especially if the heating boiler is approaching its end of life. When upgrading to a comprehensive plan, homeowners can choose to also insure the pipework and radiators or heating controls along with the central heating boiler.
Exemptions or limits which are written into the policy document should be carefully considered while choosing a policy. Some insurers place an upper limit on the number of repair calls made per year or define a ceiling level for the cost of maintenance for a specific period. Do not buy a policy just because it is cheap, the insurance cover should be adequate for your needs.
